Hello! My name is Nancy Brennan and I am the owner and lead photographer of Catchlight Portraits, Inc.  I've been a school and family portrait photographer for over 30 years, and I still love it now as I did when I first started out. 

After graduating Hofstra University in 1992, I immediately started my first job as a school photographer, and eventually found a permanent home at Marty Hyman Photography from 1993 until 2014, where I happily worked 21 years until Marty retired from the business and MHP closed its doors.

Although I enjoy photographing children of all ages, I found that I had a special talent for photographing nursery schools.  Directors would request me back each year, and I would get to know the teachers, director and children of each school on a more personal level.  During my 21 years at MHP, I had gotten married and eventually had 3 wonderful children, who are now young adults/older teens.  I've met many families through my kids' activities and my freelance business of private family sittings, communion and holiday portraits started to grow.  After working for other companies for many years, I made a decision to put all my efforts into my own company, focusing on what I do best; nursery school photography and family portraits.  

I feel very fortunate to be able to make a career out of doing what I truly love.
